Dee Kelly attended a workshop at the Knit and Stitch
Show 2014 in the RDS – Layered Landscapes by Catherine Lawes. Catherine is
from New
Zealand and
now based in the UK
Dee, and everyone attending the workshop, did a landscape piece by layering cut pieces of
fabric, hand stitching them onto a piece of cotton, leaving some raw frayed edges for
texture. Chiffon was then overlaid
on some fabric pieces to soften the colour. The tree is made from embroidery thread couched into place. The result looks good!
